For my MakerFaire project in 2018, I decided to make a table in the shape of the Nintendo 64 logo. I played a lot of the N64 as a kid, and the logo is pretty iconic, so I thought it would be a great choice to make into an end-table. The idea was that the table would be accent piece for a game room, something to put your feet on. The first thing I did was to design the table as a 3D model, to provide a better representation of my idea. After I finished the model, I printed it, and made a more detailed model. The new model included every piece of the table, and how they all fit together. This was all done within the first week. In the second week, I traced out all of the pieces onto a sheet of MDF and began to cut the pieces. After a few hold-ups, I finished cutting the wood and began to assemble it in the third week. I didn't have some of the tools I needed to make the table exactly as I'd imagined, so I had to make some adjustments to the design. It was all beginning to take shape and come together, but it wasn't finished yet. I didn't have the time to finish it before the presentation, so I did my best to wrap it up before MakerFaire. It still needs to be painted and finished, but it serves as a good representation of my original idea. I'm happy with the outcome, though for the next MakerFaire I think I'll choose something more challenging. The project I did last year was really fun and rewarding, so I think I'd like to do something it that vein again.
